Somehow I ended up with this on my to-watch list, god knows why as it's an unwatchably dull pile of crap

The *other* James Gray movie from 2014 with Marion Cotillard as a prostitute is, sad as this kinda knobslobbery makes me, most interesting viewed in context with those he's directed himself, but worth seeing for the performances (Owen continues to do very interesting work in virtually unseen movies; gonna plug TRUST again cuz the myriad implications of the phrase "David Schwimmer directed a very good movie about online sexual predators" we should all be prepared to reckon with)

I really enjoyed the relationship between these estranged brothers. And, of course, Zoe Saldana is easy on the eyes even when playing "low rent".

There was some blood and some people wore ties, but that doesn't matter because this film just wasn't that interesting. The main thing you need to know about this film is that it's about Clive Owen and Billy Crudup being brothers. One is a cop the other is a habitual felon...

The idea, even if not particularly original, is a fine idea, the production was decent, but it just didn't work out. Not memorable, not impactful, and not very entertaining.

this movie tells us,whatever changes take place in the world, with your family,in your profession (ok, this were some 1970s this film was set in, so these don't apply so much now, but it does at a lesser intensity) one needs to keep reconsidering in favour of whose side each choice he makes. The ending is so so amazing. This movie also tells us that if a strong person has set some rules for you,you follow them strictly, that lady came walking to his bar, cops followed her&all came down thereafter.

Good work from Owen and Crudrup. A solid crime drama which is held back somewhat by quite a few almost too familiar elements and scenes.

Family ties bind two brothers, one a hardened criminal and the other a policeman. Clive Owen is convincing and sometimes charismatic as the parolee. But easy money proves hard to resist. The women in this are great, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis and Marion Cotillard all give good performances. Billy Crudup was somewhat stoic throughout. The director made some bad choices and was sometimes bad at story telling. Also the music and audio balance was terrible. It was almost 1970's film quality.

This one of the worst edited movies ever. So much good material, so much wasted on the editing.
