Featuring a paint-by-numbers plot that plays it safe the whole way through and retreads the same tired ideas as many stories before it, it does have a bit of originality in its setting and particular lore. Though it isn't great by any stretch, it does feature fine performances all around and does do an okay job of building its universe. Nothing special, but not outright awful either- with its romantic cheese and harmless plot, it's likely a new somewhat-guilty pleasure of mine.

The genre is action, fantasy, love, and drama. Done very well, and isn't sappy or chick-flick. It's the lovers against the female lead's werewolf pack & her "fate". Really exciting and fun to watch, and many fight scenes /rivalries. Love the use of younger actors (mid 20s).The love triangle in this movie is legit. Plus, it dives into the battle within the female lead about her human versus inhuman side as she tries to decide for herself her life.
Highly recommend for action and fantasy lovers.

Too much like twilight for me - though the human-wolf transformations were great.

Top badass moment? Quiet stalker/artist/writer Aiden utters the one-liner "Drink Up", just before he sets fire to a load of alcohol to burn a couple of werewolves to death, after a fire-fight with a gang of them. That's impressive, as we're not led to believe he makes a habit of this sort of thing. The ability to up your game when the time comes is definitely badass. It'll be a brave person who gives any of the graphic novels he writes a bad review. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

The awfulness of this movie is almost indescribable. It made my brain physically hurt, which is quite an accomplishment with nerve-endings. The characters are vapid and two-dimensional, with the most basic motivations that aren't even remotely believable, with horrid SFX and a completely unnecessary explosion. "Terrible" doesn't even begin to cut it.

A neutered werewolf mythos and a hormone-less romance. Piss-poor camera-work and awful music choices round this off as a real stinker.
