Blood and Wine

started out nice, with nicholson and caine but didnt quite deliver, twenty years earlier they would have been a great duo

Can't remember it, will give it another spin on a double bill with The King of Marvin Gardens.

Even Jennifer Lopez can't spoil this movie. Think Caine and Nicholson have rarely been better. Special mention for Harold Perrineau (very good actor who should be more famous than he is). This film should be better known.

Rafaelson impressively creates a mature, moody vibe and steamy world in this neo-florida-noir. Nicholson and Davis are on fire as the mutually abusive couple. Lopez is cute as "Miss Burrito", the cuban maid who speaks in broken english. All the elements were there to create a really special thriller... but the script is too small-minded and does nothing interesting after the first act.

Drags on too long, not to say that it's not an interesting movie, but the characters here are hard to connect with, and it just doesn't provide much entertainment.

This film is a classic case of poorly written characters. They're impossible to connect and sympathize with. Actually, perhaps the closest anyone can get to sympathizing with any of them is the reprehensible douche Michael Caine plays. There's no chemistry between anybody; it's just thoroughly not entertaining.
