Bloody Hell

Weak, laboured and tonally odd horror/slasher film; ties itself in knots providing a convoluted, complicated and deadly dull back story for its protagonist; having *two* parses at the bank heist which sets things up is long-winded detour in the mid-section. Performances and performers lack conviction, (check Craig's comically unconvincing death scene). Still not sure whether this is supposed to be seriously scary or just a send up of genre conventions (it fails either way).

Strangely enough, "Bloody Hell" is a rare type of movie that oozes character, yet is entirely forgettable. This is a back-to-back streak of two movies with similar sensibilities for O'Toole, and while this one might be a dud, I like the stuff he's going for, like some kind of modern day Bruce Campbell.

A semi-entertaining little thriller. Nothing much, but it'll keep you engaged for 90 mins. It's something I guess

Essentially Taxi Driver (1976) as moderately entertaining horror-comedy, maybe slightly closer to Schrader's ideology - violent redemption with or without transcendental style - but with just enough distance from conventional vigilante power fantasy to make me not hate it. You really want to save those crazy Swedes...?

I'm not a horror fan, but I got the biggest belly laugh I've had in years with the kitchen table scene. This movie is a very creative nightmare. Ever hear the phrase, out of the frying pan and into the fire. A heinous family of killers runs into a very capable war veteran. It has several insane comedy scenes. Whoever wrote this was very creative and twisted. His make believe self was weird. Too gory for children and those with a weak stomach. Highly recommended if you can handle the gore.
