Mostly memorable for Tommy Lee Jones' Irish-Mississippi accent, which evoked equal portions of U2, Slingblade and Lucky Charms.

Favorite part: Jeff Bridges guns for emotion and shoots a hot tub.

An exceptionally erratic Hollywood action-drama. On one hand, it evokes serious issues including the IRA and terrorist bombings and yet it cannot be taken seriously at all, especially as Tommy Lee Jones, as the villain, shows a scene-chewing lunacy I only though existed in Batman Forever (maybe his stereotypical seriousness in his roles is not that frequent after all). It is an atrocious mess, drenched in U2, but a compellingly bad one at that.

Almost forgot this one. Which means I actually wasn't blown away by it.

Everything this has going for it is the insane choice to cast Tommy Lee Jones as an IRA mad bomber who's running around Boston with an insane does this count as blackface for the Irish schtick and borderline zany bomb setups ... no they're zany. Amazing part where TLJ buys a Rube Goldberg machine type toy for hopefully a bomb and the lady he buys it from asks if he'd like to buy this naked cassette of U2 , the Irish band. Rattling and humming. Perfect scene explaining the movie, just bouncing

Misplaced suspense - The movie. Explosions, though. But seriously, if there was an Oscar for most ridiculous overuse of kitchen appliance based suspense... It's dumb, but still pretty cool. And doesn't have the best structure. In other words, it's a typical Stephen Hopkins movie. I'm pretty sure I would've really liked this one as a kid. Especially considering the strong ending.

It might have been better if Jeff Bridges hadn't spent so much time PREVENTING explosions.

I was actually kind of suprised by this. It is watchable if nothing special. I think the supporting cast helps it out a lot.

I saw this when I was young and stupid. I liked it then, so I'll give it an average score, because there's a chance it was truly good, but there's also a chance it was horrible, and I only liked it because I've long had an unexplained fascination with the IRA.

This was a fabulous movie about an ex-IRA member who had turned around his life and now and is faced with a terrible former comrade. Jeff Bridges was awesome and Tommy Lee Jones was good too. Forest Whitaker made it work though.

A movie that stars Jeff Bridges and Tommy Lee Jones should be great but this one disappoints. There are so many explosions in this film that they start to loose there impact after awhile. With a better script and a few less explosions this could have been a good movie.

I once had an Irish friend who described this movie as racist or something like that. I couldn't tell exactly what he said because I was running from his Irish bombs.

As the middle child of the 1994 bomb films (Speed and The Specialist), Blown Away is fine. The few suspense scenes, as silly as they might be, provide enough thrills for the film to come out as enjoyable. It is crazy to think that Tommy Lee Jones won an Oscar earlier this same year, because what he gives here is just bonkers.
