Mickey plays a bluesy tune on a piano on a stage. Minnie sings. Then an unseen band plays while both sing and dance. Mickey then leads the 9-piece band in an uptempo number, with Pluto on trombone, Horace on percussion, and Clarabelle on bass, among others. Mickey steps out for a clarinet solo. (imdb)

Wasn't bad. Pluto gets to do a little more than usual in this one.

It's one of those entries where the band just plays music the whole time with some gags along the way, but the interesting thing is that for once they're showcasing only *one* song, and a classic popular standard at that: the Saint Louis Blues. The ubiquitous song may have been about 16 years old with many classic versions at the time, but it still makes this Mickey's most contemporary musical excursion to date, and they have a little fun with the arrangement. Also, Pluto plays trombone.

Interesting that Pluto got an anthropomorphic role here, too.
