In a blatantly desperate move, Ayrkroyd and Landis reteamed to create a sequel to The Blues Brothers despite the fact that their cultural moment had long since passed. And these guys wonder why their careers are dead? Goodman is an OK substitute for Belushi in theory, but his character is thinly drawn and we don't really get much of a sense of his personality. The addition of the kid was a bad idea, and the musical numbers seem forced rather than joyful outbursts of spontaneous energy.
