Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed

Anyone speaking ill of Bob Ross I’ll take a paint brush and beat the devil out of it against their stupid face. I love to think about painting along to a Bob Ross episode but I also love not spending money on paint. Breathed a major sigh of relief that this wasn’t some “and then Ross in a coked out rage would paint a landscape on a hooker’s bare buns”

The ultimate documentary for the 21st century - a clickbait idea distributed by a streaming service about a bunch of people complaining about being victims. Are the Kowalski's money hungry douchebags? Of course. But you wouldn't even know who Bob Ross was without them so grow up. Produced by Melissa McCarthy and her equally untalented husband.

Eh. Nothing special in either the technique or story. The first three fourths of the film is just an obvious and limited overview of his career (not life) before the 'twist.' The setup doesn't really offer anything new or interesting. I'm not a huge Bob Ross follower, but there was nothing in the biopic part that was new to me. The twist is not much of one--just the age-old fight over money. Hardly very fascinating. Not worth the time.

You know the world is doomed when someone can profit off of a dead person, even when there is evidence that said person never gave consent to use their likeness or art for said profit. The fact that the courts side in favour of the profiteers is everything that's wrong with the world.

Well done documentary.
