Janusz has abandoned any spirituality in his life and Anna has abandoned any materiality, Olga, the daughter is like a mix of them, she has a disease which is both corporal and mental: anorexia. Anna is a catalyst who reminds them of their spirituality and familiy ties though in a mystical and funny way. Brilliant directing with shallow focuses on every sequence which underline the mind-body dualism and which can create a both esoteric and scaringly funny atmosphere.

Well, if you're patient enough and the messy script somehow keeps you interested for 80 minutes or so, the emotional payoff in the end is really huge. The idea to tell a ghost story which will eventually lead to nothing but to make the characters realize they will never get their lost one back again and they must come to terms with that, is quite touching.

Loved the little drips of black comedy, but the story as a whole was not as inspiring. Wish they'd simple continued to focus on the pathetic aspects of it's characters instead of failing to make their lives inspirational.

Bleak, scary, funny, disturbing and a little uneven.
