Harlow is great, she really keeps the film together even when some of the other parts don't work.

Jean Harlow heads an unappealing cast of ham actors in this so-so comedy. I suppose it makes a point about the manufacture of publicity and the star machine, but it's not as sharp as the classics of the genre.

Her career should have been much brighter.

A (pre?)screwball of bitches, assholes, and douchebags making a killing at movies by stabbing everyone else in the back. The similarities to present-day celebrity culture are scary. What makes it surprisingly important is how Harlow's Lola may seem like a flighty bimbo dimwit, but she's never given a moment's peace, so of course can never know herself: the film is her constant search for identity forever obstructed by the conniving men in her life. I suppose 1930's feminism had to be subversive.

Overlooked Jean Harlow comedy is actually her funniest. A day in the life of an over-extended but good-hearted diva who yearns for the simple life -- but not really.

A frustrating satire on Hollywood and movie star life! And I mean that is a positive way. It's so filled with obnoxious people all over. Everyone is a selfish son of a bitch and it's hilarious. Not so much in a 'Ha-ha' kind of way, but it's funny in a honest and exaggerated way. Bombshell is a crowning performance for Jean Harlow as she has to be louder then every loud person in Hollywood to shine through and she does it! Not everyone will love Bombshell, but I felt it was a touch of genius.

Uproarious self-send up from Harlow, who is unfortunately underrated as a comedienne. Excellent film the skews studio-era Hollywood!
