Boris sans Béatrice

A man is cured of his hubris via his re-education in aesthetics, ethics and logic as signified by the fall and then rise of his wife and concomitant rise and then fall of his two lovers. Côté, much like in Yorgos Lanthimos' films, explicates a familiar and contemporary emotional/cognitive process of the upper-middle class - tough love - through Greek mythology that is ‘updated’ but not at the risk of comprising the moral of the story. Mr Miller (Lavant) personifies this ancient/modern nexus.

The cheap morale drains the satirical elements pretty quick.
