Born Rich

These kids run the gamut... some are total assholes (Cody Franchetti, this means you), a couple are pretty down-to-earth, most are somewhere in the middle. None of them seem truly aware of how lucky they are. Anyway, the movie isn't that great and doesn't reveal that much that you wouldn't have already guessed.

Thinking back to this doc in the aftermath of the Trump presidency: that Ivanka had the wherewithal as a 21-year old to know that the south of France was the "correct" answer for a billionaire's family retreat rather than Palm Beach makes me wonder at what point she lost the capacity to cringe at her father.

Mult-millionaire rich kids, and a few of them are still down to earth normal people who realize money is not what's going to make them happy in life.

I'm sure the parents of the people that participated in this were thrilled. They are somehow even more spoiled than you would expect.

And now for the capitalist (yes, I know Adam Smith was pro-inheritance tax), underrated, aphoristic counterpart: mo' money, mo' problems; the struggle is real. The awareness of wealth leading to identity issues and the ignorance of it to a stunt in growth and corruption of character, signifies a future filled more hurdles than, e.g., junk food.

Yawn. Awful narration just makes this snooze-fest more irritating. I suppose you're supposed to feel sorry for people who lucked out and never want for anything, I don't. I know a lot of people watch this and get angry at these people for being rich and clueless, I don't. It's a hollow little documentary that doesn't really say anything
