I adore this story. Seen quite a few adaptations of this idea and I would say this was one of the better versions. The morality was perhaps a little too much on the safe side compared to some of the more tragic ones, but I don't mind a happier ending. I loved the many characters of the dubious kind trying to manipulate the poor girl for their own cowardly benefits. They really put effort with the weirdos. The more evil they were, the weirder they were. Lovely stuff!
