From the team behind international smash hit "Bend It Like Beckham," comes a Jane Austen adaptation like never before. "Pride and Prejudice" gets the Bollywood treatment, and the result is a spectacular fusion of East meets West. Austen's classic love story unfolds in a riot of colour and emotion, song and dance that jet-sets from rural India via London to Los Angeles. (Pathe Pictures)

Very entertaining, but it loses its fun and flavor on repeat viewings. The color palette of the film is fantastic, though.

The romance was involving, but the real fun here is the bright, splashy dance numbers.

Fun music, charmingly funny take on the Pride and Prejudice story, gorgeous actresses that I hope to see in more films over in the states, but the film's overall quality was low, and it was too cutesy. Ugh!

Fun movie. An interesting twist on Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice." The bollywood numbers are quite amusing, and the roles are all well acted. I've ended up enjoying this film more upon further viewings that I'd thought that I would. it's quite unique and fun to watch.

Lotta super good looking Indian chicks in this movie, boner city. The older I get the more puerile and juvenile I plan to get and increasingly rate all movies on the basis of how horny the chicks in them make me; deal with it

When they weren't singing, the film was decent enough. I usually enjoy different types of music and I like my fair share of musicals, but the music here didn't do much for me.

Extremely cliche and corny. The only good thing about it was the dancing! Could've done without some of that useless humour.

No, it's not going to unite the world and it looks especially unnecessary in the wake of the brilliant Pride & Prejudice that came out later in the year and earned several Oscar nominations, but the attitude here is near-target and as a campy Clueless-via-Bollywood, it works. Barely.

It may be breezy and fun to watch in its own limited, mostly vapid way, but there's little sense to be made out of this mix of international sensibilities.

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice with an Asian twist! Full of beautiful Bollywood actresses, good acting and a sweet story plot. More for romance/musical lovers and girls' nights in! Not really one for the blokes.

The crux of this movie is liking the protagonist and wanting her to find a her true love and live happily ever after, thus you feel good when she does find the right man. this has one fatal flaw. She's a total bitch! I didn't feel any affection for this intolerant snob, the happy ending didn't satify me because i'd've rather seen her burnt at the stake.

Interesting take on Pride & Prejudice from an Anglo-Indian POV. Frequently hilarious. Rei is a gorgeous and classy actress.

Can't even bring myself to fully watch it. Skipped around most of the scenes and I knew I couldn't do it.

About as good as you would expect a Bollywood Pride and Prejudice to be. Although there is some good background into the "Kitty"/Wickham story you don't get from the original story and other adaptations. There is definitely chemistry between Darcy and Lalita. One or two good songs. Was worth watching at least once.

...but only because I love the original story :D Otherwise there were really moments when I was telling myself "Noooooo, just nooooo, that's so cheeeesy, stoooooop it!"

Superficial rom-com version of P&P given an interesting twist as Bollywood musical – not sure if this compensates for its redundancy (especially c. 2004) but it's fun to watch, even if the plot points are laboured and predictable at this point and little is really done to separate it from its pack of competitors. Rai and Henderson are a charming “Lizzy” and Darcy; the plentiful musical numbers are enjoyable toe-tappers. Who knows, in a more receptive mood I probably would have rated this higher!
