Brief Moment

This pretty silly romantic melodrama asks us to believe that the only valid choices for our hero are working a low level job or wasting his days drinking, kind of forgetting that with all that money and free time, he could do far more productive things like charity work. Lombard is good, but comedy is where she really shines, although she does get to sing here. Donald Cook shows up as Raymond's brother.

A light affair about rich and common mentality to work and self pride. Carole Lombard is a torch singer who marries into a wealthy family, but quickly becomes worried about the carefree and meaningless party life her husband Gene Raymond lives. Even with such limited material they do get a fair amount out of it. Nothing truly life changing, but entertaining enough with Gene Raymond and Carole Lombard having time to show some personality into their characters to make it work to a certain level.
