Bring It On: All or Nothing

It may shock you to learn that the second straight-to-DVD thematic sequel to Bring It On does not bring a lot to the table. Hayden Panettiere is alarmingly skinny in it; I was all like, Hayden, that's great you keep in shape, but a few cheeseburgers won't hurt none either.

This movie is so hard core! Cheerleading in the ghetto! Bring it on! I don't judge people by where they come from, but if I did, bring it on! That didn't make sense? Yeah! Bring it on!

This movie is awful - it actually only gets points because I thought Jake McDorman was cute which got me started on "Greek"

Full disclosure: I started with this Bring It On entry over the others as I thought the school transfer premise would be more compelling. I was wrong. As a straight-to-DVD film it has a bad CW TV drama look and music video montages. The cheering subgenre doesn't illuminate the sport for outsiders or insiders. Yet the greatest sin is missing the racial angle; best exemplified by the cheerleader from Heroes being accepted at an all-Black school after she dons boxer braid cornrows. Avoid.

Every Bring It On (There is 5, yeah you heard me, 5!) gets 10 points for the spirit fingers... 0 for everything else!

Some of the routines are worth watching - but that is it.

Pretty much what you'd expect from a direct to DVD sequel. The plot at least isn't a complete rehash like some movies of its kind and Hayden Panettiere is hot, but it doesn't really bring much to the table.
