British Sounds

Godard revolutionary Politi-doc. I think the stylistic choices are rather interesting. Mixing real, fictional and abstracted footage, a disorienting yet still coherent and appropriate soundtrack, thin slogans with complex ideas, it all adds up to an often confusing yet very vibrant and intriguing experience. Experimental, but effective.

A messy polemic, focused more on assaulting the viewer with ideas than it is with forming a singular cogent argument. Featuring Marxist Beatles parodies and pubic hair, it's perhaps as fun as the Dziga Vertov Group could ever possibly get. I still can't really wrap my head around these as films, though, because the whole point seems to be to make them as un-filmic as possible. Or to break down film into its barest elements and rebuild it into something violent and new.

Por alguma razão consigo focar muito mais no cinema do Godard do que usualmente faço em casa onde temos muitas distrações, simplesmente não dá para desgrudar os olhos da tela e usar de atenção flutuante para o que está sendo ouvido e isso é brilhante da parte dele.
