A society of grown men that meet up and engage in 'My Little Pony' cosplay deserved a more thorough examination of the correlation between the emotional naiveté of Asperger syndrome and cartoons for kids, and less of an ecstatic celebration. It's fine that they enjoy simple moral tales. I just wonder what's wrong with He-man. Remember that show? Every episode would end with Teela asking 'What have we learned today He-man?' and he'd answer 'That I'm the Master of the fucking Universe'. Mhm.

Does little to explain the draw for grown men besides a mention of the messages. Why didn't they show the sexual side of his infatuation. *shudders*.

The sheer amount of self serving awkwardness that is on display here could power a small city for a century. Most importantly, the film never really addresses why Bronies latch onto the television show besides saying that the show's messages-- the spelled out morals for prepubescent girls-- are ones that they still need to learn. It's far more terrifying than informative, and probably indicates serious flaws in our national educational system.

I thought we were going to explore the dark underbelly of the my little pony franchise and their insane obsessive fans, instead I watched a love letter to the fans. Absolutely disgusting

Let's do a hypothetical here. Like...ok, pretend I'm into My Little Pony. So What? Why take it so seriously? I don't have to define my life by it to the point where I have to hide it from my abusive father, right? Let's just let the cat out of the bag: Bronies enjoy "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" because they are lonely and unloved and (probably) want to fuck furry versions of the My Little Pony characters, whether they'll admit it or not. This doc. is Brony propaganda, btw. It lies.

Extremely one sided and awful, has terrible music and awkward people and fuck. FUCK. Couldn't finish this fucking doc.

It focuses on the fans without doing much to dig deep into why people would be fans. It's interesting in a way, but lacks a lot to make it a must see or compelling. Feels to be made more for Bronies themselves than anyone else.

This movie kind of reminds me of the similarly horrible "People Vs. George Lucas" in that it's a smug, self-serving piece of shit that only wants to preach to the choir.

This is made by bronies, and that makes for a great laugh. The community is shown in quite a praiseworthy way, which makes things hilarious if you like cringe humor. It's not that what these Brony artists are doing is null or pathetic; it's just that bronies tend to be weird and creepy, and that is funny. As a documentary, we are not taught much beyond the different kinds of expressions of brony love. I felt really sad for the chubby guy with the mean dad. His dad looked so disappointed.

I feel that anything bad I say about this will sound like I'm making fun of a bunch of fat basement dwelling forever alone neck bearded virgins. And I don't want to come off as insensitive... Long live the feminization of men.

Watch some dweebs go to an awkward pony convention where they can circlejerk about the show together and then talk about how great of an experience it was. That's the entire "documentary".

So, they mention the whole "clop" part of the fandom, but never go into it? The title makes it seem like it's going to be a kind of expose on the fandom, instead it's about people going to a convention. The unironic love for a show so terrible would be admirable if every Brony I've ever come across wasn't a terrible human being.

This wasn't nearly as bad as people seem to be suggesting. I have no interest in the TV show or any toys or films but like it or not something pretty weird and kinda cool happened over the past few years. It's nice to get an inside look at the culture surrounding this... thing (although it's fairly cursory, not much depth to be had).

The benefit of this doc is that it at least shows what MLP is about by showing footage of it: it's crap. It also became clear that bronies are mostly socially inept dudes that like the one-dimensional and simple storyline because unlike adult shows it lies within their social intelligence to grasp (i.e. they are guys with aspergers and have the social intelligence of children, which is why they like this show for children).

Just boring. It wasn't funny or interesting. Trekkies without any soul or humor.

I came into this with my own assumptions and stereotypes of bronies. At first I was surprised by the amount of access the creators had, including very convincing animations. Then I realized this was a fan-sponsored and creator-sanctioned love letter to bronies. Nothing wrong with an uplifting message. You can get your fix of mockery or outlying weirdos elsewhere. Fav scene: UK kid giving everyone brohoofs. Also, Bar Harbor kid's dad constantly reminding us of guns, Bush, and how he's manly.
