This very blatant Goodfellas copy has its heart in the right place, but the combination of a fairly insipid story and toothless performances from B-list stars make it more of a damp squib than a spectacular show. This is one of those films that is so over-reliant on voiceover narration that it has a bad shortage of thrilling scenes. And when you have Freddie Prinze and Mena Suvari gazing into each others' deep, Disneyesque eyes, the atmosphere could hardly be less Godfatherish.

No! No! No! You can't have me buying the idea of Freddie Prinz as some kid growing up around the mafia. Don't do it! If anything his awkward attempt at pulling it off provided laughes. Baldwin was solid for his part, and Turtle did an ok job too. Look this is a cheap copycat of A Bronx Tale. I felt like I could tell you what was going to happen (and sometime recites someone's lines) five seconds before hand. If you get past all this it is still ok, but its been done before and better.

Not the Godfather(s), Goodfellas, Bronx Tale or Casino, but definetly a second tier mob movie. Wanted to rank higher but the actors were just not as good as the above mentioned movies. Set in 1985 to give a different feel.

interesting main character divided between being the person he wants to be in Manhattan, and being the person his friends know him to be.
