Brother Orchid

A plot fit for a 3-stooges short. This was no gangster film.

Fun, but silly film. It parodies not only gangsters, but also ranchers, which i thought was hilarious.

Just about enough laughs to make it worthwhile, but in the end it's neither one thing nor another.

Gangster Edward G. Robinson enters the monk racket! The hard guy in another gangster spoof, and another hilarious one. I particularly loved Ann Sothern in this, especially her drunken phone call scene! Allen Jenkins, the little he was in, cracked me up too! Cool to see Humphrey Bogart, but he didn't get to do all that much. Even Ralph Bellamy got better moments then him in this one! So if you are in the mood for a mob comedy then look no further then Brother Orchid (1940)!
