George Romero's latest film (his first since "The Dark Half") is about a man who one day wakes to find that his face is now a smooth white, featureless mask. Freed by this newfound anonymity, he then seeks revenge on all who have wronged him. (imdb)

Cool idea, questionable execution, limp script. The main character feels shallow and underdeveloped. What makes most of these flip-out movies good, is that they make you sympathize with the protagonist, which then forces you to question your own morals. This dude was just a moron with mime paint, though I do have to give him partial credit for burning off a narcissist's balls at a rave party with a laser.

Man, remember when The Misfits thought anyone would give a shit about them without Danzig? That aside, George's writing was kinda rusty here, and he seemed to have forgotten how to direct actors....and why did it get funny toward the end? I'd say this is Romero's Emperor's New Clothes movie, but that was probably Monkey Shines, which I am not going to watch anytime soon to review.

A very uninspiring thriller by Romero that's not worth to watch.

I'm not sure what horror fans could possibly have against this feature, as I see it as a strong return for Romero from his long heiatus. Sure, it's not his greatest film, but it certainly isn't his weakest. Infact I think it's one of the finest horror films of the past decade. Sure that might not say much for the 90's, but hey, it was a lousy few years.

A wimpy magazine executive gets pushed around by everyone he knows, but when he wakes up one day and his face is a blank white mask he decides to use his literal anonymity as a means to avenge past wrongs. Pretty weird concept and Romero is clearly trying to make a labored point about identity, but the flick is never boring. The white mask is creepy and Peter Stormare is comically over the top as the magazine boss.

This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen but I really loved it.

Truly strange film about contemporary non-existence and the way it may result in the unleashing of the drives. Unfortunately almost nothing in the movie works and, given the length of time between drinks for Romero, it is slightly odd that the script seemed as though it needed several more drafts. While Romero's persistence in using generic forms as a vehicle for exploring the possibilities of cinematic social critique may be admirable, in this case it can only be considered a failed experiment.

Imbalanced and tonally confused. Peter Stormare flashes his dick in a very #MeToo scene ahead of its time

A rather ingeniously allegorical fairy tale worth telling for Romero who exposes by example the lack of significance or emotional energy not only in most of today's comatose knock-offs, but of today's shallow, vanilla status quo. It's captivating in a delirious sort of way, and very accomplished at making its point.

If the acting were better then this would've/could've been a cooky, fun little thriller. As it is, this was a miss for me and the sax got on my nerves quite a bit.

Interesting idea but it goes a bit too much in circles at times, and some characters are such caricatures and hammy it nullifies some of the impact of whatever it tries to convey. They should have casted Nic Cage as the faceless dude though, that would have been hilarious
