Strange, tonally odd comedy that uneasily mixes satire, grotesquery and gross-out; the unresolved tension between the competing styles means the film never sparks to life, despite some amusing ideas and a pair of terrific performances from Gyllenhaal and (especially) Kurtz, who seem to be the only people on either side of the camera who know what they're doing, and go for it with both guns blazing. Aggressive and mean spirited deployment of racial stereotypes drag the film down from a pass.

I was so against this movie because of the way it makes light of such a debilitating disorder. I was even more disappointed than I thought possible. I'm glad Jake Gyllenhaal has moved on bigger and better things.

Painfully unfunny and the whole conceit they play with regarding the driving romance is incredibly stupid. Because talking to a girl a few times and crashing her wedding is definitely the basis of a strong relationship. What gets me is that the movie doesn't really try to do much with its marketed premise; instead, it's more of a hodgepog of stupid stereotypes that are abrasive enough to be offensive but not over the top enough to be funny, which is a wicked combo for bad comedy.

A couple of laughs but nothing all that impressive. Jake Gyllenhaal was actually very impressive and provided serious commitment to such a silly film. He was definitely the highlight but sadly the movie wasn't all that good.

Gake Jylenhallls thrills and delights in the boy in the bubble. He plays a germaphobe who won't leave his little plastic world, even for the promise of a kiss from a moderately attractive female in a leading role. This movie will leave you pleading for more!!!!!!

The movie's so damn stupid, yet at the same time there are still some good laughs to be had. I really ought to watch it again as I'm sure actually sitting down and focusing on the film will net a different reaction from glancing over to catch brief snippets as it airs on Comedy Central on a Saturday afternoon.
