Same old story of greedy corporatists who have infiltrated the US government in attempts to inflate the bank accounts of their private interests. This time we have a Doctor [Burzynski] who has quite literally invented and patented a cure for cancer and practiced his therapy for over 30 years. Meanwhile Enel Pharm, the FDA and National Cancer Institue tie him up in court and try to revoke his license [and jail him] while they steal his patented cure. Smells like capitalism to me.

At first this seemed to be an ad of sorts; an unbalanced portrait of a man whose claims can't be rightly evaluated in 100 minutes. Then it becomes clear that this is a movie not principally about a man, but rather a wealth of interactions among individuals/families that obstructionist "government" agencies have deemed unacceptable for reasons that are nebulous at best, and pernicious at worst. A sad account of the present condition of (individual) freedom.

"Burzynski is the kind of should've-been-important picture that you damn with the faintest praise: It means well." - Chuck Bowen
