Butter on the Latch

Didn't respond to this the way I hoped which is probably a me thing and not so much this mumblecore fumbling in the woods. I've let this churn for a while though and it hasn't improved in the cockles of my heart. The setup is there, I don't think I cared about the characters enough/at all. Sometimes I'm looking for stories and moods aren't enough and ambling becomes painful. I'm ripping my cool card up in front of your eyes.

It's a weird mumblehorror mood piece with a fine central performance from Sarah Small and tons of haunting Balkan folk music and dancing. A small film but definitely watchable.

Appreciative of the unique voice that comes through in this, particularly in its construction and editing. It certainly evokes a mood (or should I say, moods), though it isn't clear to me that it coheres in any meaningful way. Maybe that's the point.
