Van Dyke's mother is played by someone...the same age as him? Only in Hollywood. Because of Mad Men, the Ann Margaret intro will be burned into my memory for the rest of my life.

A somewhat garbled translation of a very mediocre musical to begin with. Saved partially by Van Dyke.

Good production values and entertaining dance numbers. Didn't particularly care for the songs or singing, but they weren't terrible.

Cute is the best way to describe this movie. Ann-Margret is cute, Janet Leigh is cute, Bobby Rydell is cute, the songs and dances are cute. Not a bad watch if you like musicals.

Conrad Birdie was tone deaf and unbelievable as a singing star. The best songs from the musical were left out. The acting was decent with Lynde, Van Dyke, Leigh, and Ann-Margaret. It was a disappointing version of a musical I know I've liked seeing on stage.

It's not the best musical I've seen, but it was pretty fun. It reminded me a lot of Hairspray (2007). The cast was good, even if not all of them were the greatest singers. Ann-Margret was rather beautiful. It had some good musical numbers, as well as some not-so-good ones. It was a little long, and some of the songs are pretty forgettable, but it's a pleasant movie that's enjoyable in its innocence and naivety.

The film starts strong, as Telephone Hour is one of the Campiest (and therefore greatest) Musical numbers of all-time, but then the film gets progressively worse from there, with poor performances from all the leads, lacklustre songs, a muddled story and dance numbers that go on for far too long. Maybe the birdie should've stayed in it's cage.

Sometimes all you need to see is 30 seconds of a trailer before you are cringing. 10pts for nice tits on lead actress.

The most amusing part to me is that the least-toxic relationship in the story is Kim's parents, and the dad's played by the gayest man in Hollywood at the time.

Very lightweight entertainment. It is fluffy and colourful in an early 60's way, but the storyline is dull and the songs unmemorable, although Ann Margaret, as always is mesmerising, .

Imagine this being made today and the late show you go on is Fallon. Yuck.

Bye Bye Birdie adds raucous, hard rock music to a mindless plot line. Ann Margret does nothing to improve things.
