Dopey spoofing of the gangsta rap phenomenon, it's got a few laughs but nothing really memorable.

Not as Spinal Tap as I was lead to believe, but very entertaining.

Billed as the rap version of Spinal Tap was unfair treatment. It is not a biting look into the industry but a playful mock up. Has a few funny parts in particular their hit single.

This is a really terrible movie, but at least 20 bonus points are awarded for the "I'm Black and I'm Back" segment.

It's no "Fear of a Black Hat," but it's fun enough.

This is a pretty funny film making fun of the rap game. This is one of the first movies I saw with Chris Rock. It might have been one of his first movies. Their big hit song is hysterical.

CB4 is a fun mockumentary about a three suburban black men putting together a gangsta rap group. Think "This is Spinal Tap" with the members of NWA. It's got a lot of funny gags and laugh out loud moments thanks to being co-written by Chris Rock and the satire on rap music and the public reaction to the music is spot on thanks to being co-written by Nelson George. Definitely worth a watch, particularly if you're a fan of hip hop.

The hip hop version of "Spinal tap" isn't as good but does have some great moments

"Straight Outta Locash" and "I'm Black Ya'll" are the two hilarious highlights in an otherwise entertaining and sometimes unbearable mocking of the rap game. I'm definitely mixed on this. There's enough laughs, but the more slapstick scenes just fell flat. Gangsterdom!

This movie has a lot of potential but it never quite lives up to it. There are some funny ideas, songs and moments but the script could have used a rewrite or 2 more. The cast seems to be having a lot of fun. Overall this movie is a slight disappointment.

Very entertaining film. It's now 25 years old, but most of it doesn't feel too dated. It is like the Spinal Tap of rap music, but with less subtlety. Good script, sometimes hilarious, sometimes weak. Tamra Davis was a good choice for direction. Phil Hartman is a nice accent that keeps the plot moving well.
