Cabin Fever

As a lover of the original, I can still recognize that it was met with nearly universal lukewarm, or worse reception. Yet two shitty direct-to-video sequels and only fourteen years later we have a remake on our hands, also with no theatrical release, if you were wondering. The baffling thing is that this movie actually pretty faithfully follows the original, yet it was bled so completely of every bit that I enjoyed about the original. Let's just pretend this monstrosity never happened.

would've been about 25-30 points (for boobs), but if you reference kubrick in the opening shots of an eli roth remake you get deducted at least 50 points. i don't care if the term "cabin fever" was used there.

I once thought I had cabin fever. Turned out to be herpes. Boy was I relieved.

It comes at the material straight-faced instead of tongue-in-cheek like the original, but it's still got a weirdly disorienting, chimerical vibe, and I like some of Zariwny's odd directorial touches, and there are hot chicks, and I watched it drunk, and I really love horror movies. What I'm saying is that I liked this movie a lot more than you'd like it, probably.

I'm often critical of remakes because I feel they change it too much But this garbage didn't even try other then new actors and slight dialog changes I mean what's the point if your not even gonna try and do some changes ?

Strong cinematography and polished execution of a cornucopia of B-movie tropes work alongside effective grotesqueness and scares to propel the film above most of its class. (Disclaimer: I have never seen the original)

Not really sure the reason for this recent reboot.

Kind of figured this was gonna be trash. This was a pretty pointless remake as everything in this is a direct shot for shot of the original, except the original was much better. The acting, effects, and atmosphere is just nowhere near the original. Don't waste your time.

This film does absolutely nothing interesting with this premise and pretty much just repeats the first film with minor variations. One variation is losing the really odd humour. I really can't think of any reason to watch this instead of, say, re-watching the original. Mere minutes into this film there's a very clear "homage" to "The Shining". How dare you, sir?

Completely pointless po-faced remake of Cabin Fever. They removed the goofiness that made the original fun yet still imdb claims this is a comedy horror. In the end it's so damn boring I couldn't make it halfway

Pointless remake of a decent dark comedy. Misses a lot of what made the original good, and ends up being painfully boring.

The remake I never wanted to see, but for some goddamned reason I watched it anyway.

A remake that does everything worse than the original. Doesn't need to exist.
