Caesar and Cleopatra

Claude Rains delivers an intriguing performance as Julius Caesar. While Vivien Leigh's Cleopatra seams a lot like Scarlet O'Hara. The production is low budget and it shows.

Hard to get into but once it grabs you it never lets go.

Somewhat amusing with some great performances

In the words of George Bernard Shaw about Vivien Leigh's performance in his play "She's not right at all." And that became part of the fun, seeing how bad she was at being all-mighty Cleopatra. I did however like Claude Rains and the overall casual flow of this play-on-screen, even if I didn't see Rains as Caesar either. Very ambitious, but best enjoyed as a spoof.

Vivian Leigh is the worst Cleopatra I've ever seen, in this unfunny, screamingly sexist Hollywood relic.
