Barry Crimmins is pissed. His hellfire brand of comedy has rained verbal lightning bolts on American audiences and politicians for decades, yet you've probably never heard of him. But once you've experienced Bobcat Goldthwait's brilliant character portrait of him and heard Crimmins's secret, you will never forget him. (imdb)

Goldthwait rocks up and down that slider during interviews that demand a still shot. When he releases the revelation, he digs his claws in deep. The audience gets taken from a bio-pic of a guy who seems like a more aggressive, charged, John Stewart-type, comedians comedian to dredging up Crimmins past subjecting his family to relive it to boot. That said, it's a planned, elongated & grim retelling. Crimmins approaches it eloquently albeit with understandable bursty patches of vitriolic rage.

Hit me hard. I had never heard of Crimmins before but I was instantly wowed by his bravado on stage, his insight, and his raw honesty. Haven't been as affected by a film in a long time.

well, i already knew that people equals shit, but i always love someone to point it out nonetheless. didn't expect this to turn into a crusade against (*spoilers*, i guess(?)) child abuse halfway into the movie. which is a fair point in this context, but quickly becomes a pretty redundant topic to elaborate on, since everyone should already know that kiddy rape isn't exactly the finest of sports.

A solid documentary about an politically-explosive comedian that's worth your time but, spoilers, special note that I can't imagine the frustration he felt at that congressional hearing.

I had no prior knowledge of the pissed off comedian Barry Crimmins, but got to know him all clear here and understand why he's so damn angry at the world! The shift in moods makes this a different and rewarding kind of comedian portrait.

A quietly brilliant portrait of a great man. Crimmins comes across as both a comedy wizard, and a fantastic spokesperson for all of the worthy causes. The type of film that subtly makes you reconsider your entire life, and life in general, and how little you're doing with yours.

I hadn't heard of Crimmins before this film. He reminded me a lot of the more well-known Bill Hicks. He's someone I can really respect, for sure. The film itself is competently made with a lot of interviews with people sharing insights on him, including Crimmins himself. I enjoyed it, but it may not be accessible for people who aren't ordinarily interested in this subject matter or documentaries of this kind.

bazı mevzuları içeriksiz biçimde uzattıkça etkinin arttığının düşünülmesi biraz problemli.
