Campbell's Kingdom

Dirk Bogarde played an inheriting grandson from England well. Barbara Murray was seemingly the only woman for miles in this town. They both engage in some terrorism until they get their way and find oil. The mountains of Italy were convincingly Canadian. Fav scene: dam breaking was awesome.

Surprising and rather unexpected film which is charming rather than tough. The battle between a landowner who want's to flood the area to create a dam v a potential oil miner - plague or pestilence eh! Bogarde is out of his comfort zone and better for it. Some surprising casting (Sid James and some of the Dad's Army cast) ... but strangely it works.

Passes the time.
