Can Heironymus Merkin Ever Forget Mercy Humppe and Find True Happiness?

Man, this movie is hard to find (and almost as hard to rate). Was it worth the decades I had to wait to finally see it? Um... Anyone interested should absolutely read Roger Ebert's sympathetic review (which can be found on RogerEbert.com). I don't quite share his positive assessment--and I detest Newley's songs, the creepiest of which is "Sweet Love Child")--but as he points out, the immense creativity behind it all is undeniable. I just kept wondering, "WHO thought this was a good idea?"
