This is a bit (okay, very) shoddy, but curiously enjoyable. A truly bizarre take on post-Vietnam readjustment, packed with boobs and gore and funky music. Radice is good value for money as usual, and Saxon lends the film the wee touch of class that only he can bring, although that is undone somewhat with some creepy moments involving a neighbour who is too young for him. Likeable schlock that gets nowhere close to realising its ambitions.

A classic example of a movie that doesn't know what it wants to be. At times it's a social commentary about Vietnam vet and at other times it's an infection film, the really bad part is that they actually mix both concepts into the same scenes at times and neither of them work. The social commentary parts are actually pretty decent and the infection parts are cheesy but entertaining, put the two together along with a slow pace and you get this movie which is entertaining while at the same ...

Banal bullshit that is sometimes praised for its meaningful 'subversive' subtext, but Clark mixed zombies and social commentary (i.e. the enduring trauma of Vietnam) to much better effect in Deathdream in the mid 70's. This is just inept film making across the board. It's terribly paced, badly acted, poorly written and crudely filmed. Sometimes this combination of 'errors' produces curious results, but Margheriti is no Fulci, and Fulci made enough stinkers in his time. Avoid.

For some reason, one of the protagonists is given the name Charlie Bukowski.

Standard Italian trash/gore flick about a small group of Vietnam vets who return to the USA infected with a rabies-like disease that makes them crave human flesh. It's got boobs and shootouts and plenty of bloody shots of soldiers biting into people's soft bits. Pretty much a zombie movie but without the zombies.

Italian cannibal flick that doesn't copy main concept from "Man From Deep River" - that's unusual, it's directed more like a zombie film. And it's quite good if you're into these kind of films. I love how they play funky music during some gore close-ups.

Suprisingly entertaining vietnam vet/flesheater flick that does fizzle out a bit toward the end. Still, it's not a bad way to spend an hour and a half.

Saxon can't act. The worst part about banging underaged girls isn't the sex it's the biting. Gore is mostly loads of fake blood but these scenes are directed well and are squirmy and there are later gory money shots. Gruesome pacing issues. Interesting that it shows the very spark of outbreak and the infected still have wits about them along with their violent urges...these cannibals shoot guns more than bite though.. Mostly it's all build up no payoff. But its got saxon and radice!

Despite featuring cannibals this relies more on suspense than shocks and gore, tho there is a bit of that too. Making this more action-thriller than horror. The action set pieces, most noticeable a standoff in a mall and foot chase in the sewers, are very well shot. Margheriti know how to build suspense well. But it falters in the in between scenes, when its flaws become more apparent. But since the reason to watch this is the actions and not the drama overall this comes out as very watchable.

Box Versátil Zumbis no Cinema Volume 5.

Goofy premise, even it's a movie about flesh eating Vietnam veterans. It starts pretty slowly but there is few stupidly funny scenes, which make it interesting. When the actual "apocalypse" starts, it's boring as hell. Couple of gory scenes can't help it anymore.

A movie that works in fits and starts, moving between set pieces that almost seemed culled from 3-4 different script outlines with only the gore tying them together. One rewrite and a few acting choices away from maybe being a truly subversive Vietnam vet horror movie, not that I think Margheriti was really shooting for that.
