Cannibal ferox

Despicable animal cruelty nonsense is wedged between a guy getting his dick cut off and in the next scene going for a boat ride like it didn't even happen. He is trudged through the jungle dickless and doesn't even walk any different. They wouldn't even be able to overdub my nonstop shrill screams and bitchin'. Oh and the dick gets eaten like right away and the other cannibals are all "Unk is so gay lol"

These movies hold a strange fascination for me, even though I spend a good deal of time looking away from the screen. This one separates itself by being exactly like the others.

Eeh, it has been ages since I left a review on here. The latest lockdown in the UK and constantly working from home has left me with a very short attention span, and if I watched a lot of films over the festive period, I can't really remember. I blame the booze. Anyway, this is dross, and comes across as slightly tamer, and slighty less accomplished to its clear inspiration Cannibal Holocaust, even if it tries to up the ante with a couple of more imaginative kills. Hard to recommend.

One of the most infamous titles of all time, this is the best known of the Italian jungle-cannibal subgenre and about as violent a movie as you're ever gonna see. Although not as bad as it's supposed to be, with a genuine feeling of fear and unease, it's the gore you've come to see and gore you get -- everything from impaled breasts to castration to brain eating and more -- all presented in a plain, uncompromising manner that makes Herschell Gordon Lewis look like George Cukor.

I was in the mood for some violent cannibal jungle shit, and since this film boasts of being banned in 31 countries it seemed like a right pick for me. Boy, was I disappointed. It's just very cheap and boring flick with a poor story. Whatever attempts it made to be shocking with animal killings failed, because I have watched some Discovery Channel over the years, and chopping penis and whatever graphic violence this film has doesn't stand a chance to modern splatters.

It's like a diluted Cannibal Holocaust, & that really is the best way to describe it- about everything is the same. The themes, the gore, the animals being killed for no reason, the overbearing social commentary. Unlike Holocaust, though, this just never hits the mark in any way. The message it's trying to have never resonates, & the plot drags at a snail's pace. The characters aren't all awful, either, which makes seeing their demise less enjoyable. It has its moments, but it's just meh.

Love Giovanni Radice as a sadistic coke-fueled psycho. Some good gore, too. Otherwise not really worth watching.

Much better than I expected. The animal death were nothing worse than can be see on Animal Planet or the Discovery Channel. The part I liked best about this film is that the natives had a good reason for the torture and killing.

On the DVD interview Lenzi says it's his best film. I don't want to see what other crap he made.

The most notorious of Lenzi's cannibal trilogy and actually the lesser of all three films. The parallelism between the jungle adventure and the police thriller doesn't work. Actually, it's a mess. The gore is great.

This movie was a disgusting piece of crap and I liked Cannibal Holocaust.

Poor.

Must have / seen for Cannibal Freakz. Ferox is with Holocaust the most Important Movie of that Genre. It's a gore party not more not less. Entertaining for those who love that Genre, boring for the rest.

I don't want to be too harsh as the version I saw had been cut to shreds; a bit like watching a porno with that nasty sex business cut out. However, I'd recommend Cannibal Holocaust as a far far superior alternative.

Exploitation at it's best. Funny, brutal and real scenes of animal deaths.
