Cannonball Run II

Less a dumb movie than a disorganised one, but the opportunity to watch this roll call of LOVE BOAT cast-offs mingling with bona fide A-listers makes the film a perverse pleasure; while no-one on-screen or off seems to care about the race itself (we wait nearly an hour for the cars to hit the road), plenty of amusing bits and a casual "what-the-hell" approach at least makes this more fun than part 1. Nice to see Martin in better health this time (or at least hiding under a better makeup job!)

Reynolds had a severe lack of judgment if he really meant it when he said Boogie Nights was the role he regretted the most, because this exists.

There are few funny moments but more Jackie Chan is nice. Other than that it's pure shit.

Hah, I'm not the only one to notice the "hot" girls in the Lambo are actually hot this time around! Why Daisy Duke wasn't in the first astounds me. That and Charles Nelson Reilly!

A sad excuse for a movie, it appears the cast had a lot of fun making it but it's just a series of gags and carrying-on. Not a lot of it very amusing, however.

Well … shit. With Reynold's death I got a sudden fit of nostalgia and wanted to rewatch this oldie and now I feel like an awful human being who's crapping on his coffin. But this movie is just a mess that keeps flinging random shit on the screen to see if maybe some of it sticks. The actors are fine but have nothing to work with and holy shit, did Dean Martin get old in those three years.
