Brilliantly cast, filmed and directed. This has everything going for it including the score, cinematography and even model work. A very credible view of life aboard a Napoleonic warship. Foresters writing shows through bringing strong dialogue. Certainly worth watching.

Whoa, now I know what Star Trek is based on.

O Falcão dos Mares estreava há 70 anos no Reino Unido. Quem vê esse filme pensa que foi fotografado pelo Jack Cardiff, mas é o Guy Green mantendo a tradição inglesa da direção de fotografia deslumbrante, no mais é a usual excelência de Walsh para filmes de aventura. DVDRip no MakingOff (por que esse filme ainda não foi lançado em alta definição?).

Sturdy performance from Gregory Peck as the ship captain, but they could have made him cooler in a packed swashbuckler like this. With that said, it's the entire spectacle Raoul Walsh makes of this sea tale that's the thrill, not just that it is a Peck pic.
