I'm not sure how much I liked Caravan (1934). There's too much singing and meaningless nonsense. Yet it's so playful, and even a little bit naughty as a royal marries a violin playing gypsy. On the positive Loretta Young was a real beauty to watch, Charles Boyer was a real man to watch and Phillips Holmes does a rare colorful performance as the playboy officer! And then there was the truly odd image of Eugene Pallette being a gypsy king! All a cheerful party and I'm sure being drunk would help.
