In possibly the greatest scene in movie history, a bunch of protesting hippies, who have handcuffed themselves to a bulldozer, find themselves unable to escape when a dinosaur shows up and promptly starts eating them alive. Glorious.

Cute knock-off of Jurassic Park. "Peace, green brother!"

I want a fucking Carnosaur for my birthday. It's cute with its small arms. Too bad it doesn't cluck like a chicken. Sweet ending though

Awesome dinosaur action, plenty of gore, great bleak ending. Possibly the greatest dino flick of all time.

While daughter Laura Dern was making the biggest-budget dinosaur movie of all time for Steven Spielberg, her mom (Ladd) was over at the Roger Corman lot slogging her way through this opportunistic but actually more fun _Jurassic_ wannabe. You'd swear Ladd was channeling the spirit of Louise Fletcher if Fletcher weren't still alive.

What can possibly be more relevant in 2020 than a movie about the US government willingly surrendering to a VIRUS THAT SPREADS DINOSAURS?!?

One of the worst movies.

Occupies the netherworld between knowing camp and genuine incompetence (with plausible deniability for both scenarios); mercifully brief, but the repetitive nature of the carnosaur attacks eventually makes this a pretty dreary grind, not helped by disconnected, disaffected performers. You keep waiting for Ladd to really cut loose the only way she can, but it never happens; finale with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD overtones would have had more impact if the characters were worth caring about.

I mean... it's hilarious in a bleak, fuck you everyone dies horribly kind of way. Also bizarre in that this was a desperate cash in on the release of Jurassic Park the same year, but that they somehow managed to snag Laura Dern's mother for the villain.

The villain really has no motivation other than she hates everyone, I guess she was picked on in school or something. The creature effects are pretty lame, as is the plot. But this movie has balls, it is politically incorrect in a harsh way; so it may be worth watching just for that, depending on who you are.

I'm not gonna lie, as a kid, the amount of gore in these movies freaked me out something awful. I watched this today and there was a lot of pandiculation going on. Mmm hmm.

I like to think that movies like this were made just for me. I'm just smart enough to appreciate the half-hearted science content (montage of ACGT sequences, security camera labeled "Camera 18P", etc) but just dumb enough to be enthralled by a cheap, needlessly gory rubber-suit-dinosaur movie. The plot is mind-numbing, the tone is pitch black, and I am happy.

Wow. This is awful. Surely the book has to be at least marginally better, right? Half-assed performances, a half-assed script, & a convoluted plot that's hard to follow. It also features a really stupid environmentalist message that's more offensive in how plainly insincere it is than anything. The only decent thing about this pile of muck is the actual dinosaur, which is still somehow not very threatening. The ending is impressively shit, and is the rotten cherry on top. Skip this one.

When I was seven I used to always want to rent this at the local video store, but couldn't due to the 'R' rating. Twenty years later, I can only imagine how my seven-year-old-mind would have been blown by the B-movie travesty that is Diane Ladd, Carnosaur.

Had the misfortune of being released in the same year as another (slightly better) film featuring dinosaurs. Of course, that's only one of approximately 263 things working against this film. Sarcasm mode cancel.
