I don't even have the excuse of having seen this as a kid, but... that Arnold/Paymer chemistry, what can I say? The entire movie was their interplay, like Hiller ordered them to take on a "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" sensibility and they maliciously complied. Even Perlman's presence, usually cine-strychnine for me, didn't detract overmuch. Also, props for Kim Coates, who hit just the right tone. They should have found a way to make a movie about these three guys and called it good enough.

Nostalgia rating, nostalgia rating. Ahhh.

How is it that all the movies I watched as a kid subsequently are the worst movies ever made?
