If the characters weren't the most uninspired college dropouts this could of been a bit more than a watchable movie. Some dark themes were explored well but at the same time, you wish the movie was about the more interesting characters our college friends encounter.

So-so horror movie with lots of cliches and no new ideas. Depite this it is still fairly well done and is a good way to pass an hour and a half. Still infinitely better than most mainstream horror movies so give it a shot.

This is good for one watch, but it's another plot that's being overused lately with only minor twists: we're in some post-apocalyptic world (virus, war, zombies, whatever) tagging along with the coolest group of survivors, but they are all flawed and we explore that for about 80-90 minutes before an unsatisfying ending. Yay. Sign me up for the 20th time.

This is a competently shot medium budget horror/thriller film but the dialog and characters were pretty terrible. The characters talk like they are in a college sorority or frat and act the same way. It seems entirely absurd that these characters would survive in any kind of post apocalyptic contagion scenario. The meandering inconsequential plot only adds to the mediocre quality of the film.

The scale is a bit too limited to réally convey a feeling of despair. As such, you don't really care about the characters and their plight. Some good moments, and I'm always up for a society-breaks-down movie, but it peters out towards the end.

A zombie movie without any zombies. There are some gross-out scenes and the usual body horror stuff from a film about a deadly virus, but it's really more of a drama. The small cast is decent, with no one putting in an especially good or especially bad performance. Overall it falls solidly into my "forgettable" category, it was not bad but there was nothing that really stood out or hadn't been done before in better films.

I guess there was an intention to do something here, which ended up in doing nothing.

Brian was so unlikeable he ruined any chance I had of liking this movie. The other three characters were also somewhat unlikeable, each for a different reason. Even more frustrating was the unbelievably dumb character decisions that were used in order to advance the plot, as if it's impossible to have a good movie where the plot is advanced despite smart character decisions. The Pastor brothers need to learn the value of having likeable, smart characters. This was fucking unenjoyable.

Not terrible while watching it, but in retrospect... Nothing happens, and the dialogue/characters aren't particularly interesting in any manner. It's better than Z-grade horror, but it's still barely passable.

A very pleasant surprise, although it could be called "How to risk your life as much as possible during a pandemic of deadly virus" because the characters act like idiots most of the time. A depressing movie with a satisfying ending.

A good watch. The trailer has nothing to do with the movie, I don't know why they made such a stupid trailer but i guess i must be thankfull becaused it lowered my expectations. A really nice post-apocalyptic survival movie. Gets you in the mood. A god prep before The Road.

Meh, it was okay. Nothing revolutionary, and really slow at the end, but a decent horror flick.

The Pastor's paint a dark biohazard scenario. Considering that "Carriers" is the first work by them, they did a great job. Everyone who expect a brutal or thrilling Horror Flick might be disappointed. It is rather a Drama with some really intensive moments.

I was very surprised just how much I ended up liking this film. Sure, the movie is just a series of small moments as these characters cross the country, but even with the shoestring plot it's the acting that is engaging. I would have liked the movie better if it had a stronger ending, but unfortunately I think the decision the filmmakers made at the end was kind of weak. Still, 95% of what is there is amazing, and well worth the watch.

Do people ever bother to think these films through before they write them? The characters actions are not reactions to their world, but simply feebly scripted tempts by the writers to move the story along with clumsily crafted actions.

Nothing special, decent timewaster I guess. I still don't get why Chris Pine is getting big, though - he is like the anti-starpower.

A surprisingly decent horror film. The plot is engaging despite being expectedly predictable. The characters, though, are slightly annoying and the whole apocalyptic scenario is somewhat unconvincing and not atmospheric enough. But what keeps it from becoming a total crap is its competent handling of weightier issues of moral dilemmas and the disintegration of trust.

Way before the actual pandemic hit, here is a global killer virus movie. Some good performances here; more of a drama than thriller.

Top badass moment? The fake Captain Kirk always shoots to kill. A serious outbreak of Man Flu devastates America. Kirk must take the tough, unpopular decisions and ultimately sacrifices himself for his crew. Something like that anyway. And what is it with Starship Captains and driving all-terrain vehicles irresponsibility in times of crisis? There’s Picard with the Argo buggy and here we have Kirk with a… golf buggy. But overall it does have it moments. No cats, chainsaws or decapitations.

The key point here is that I gave it the same score as 'The Road'; it is possible that both are too high.

Like a movie version of Survivors (the BBC series). Clever enough, well done tonally but things turn to shit a bit too rapidly. Could have done with a longer running time. Not bad by any stretch though

Carriers establishes that you don't need rampaging military or zombies to make an outbreak movie effective. In a lot of ways it makes a companion piece to the road; the last vestiges of society are dead and the few survivors purposelessly drift like vultures. Infection and death are so prevalent as seem inevitable. The main problem in the film lies in making morality the center stage of all of the conflict, which makes the film something of a pessimistic downer you won't want to revisit.
