Nothing special. Actually, everything could be predicted very easily once the parents tried to kill the child. I mean come on - her name is Lilith...

Good. A solid supernatural thriller that unfortunately fizzles out near the end, but it manages to maintain a creepy atmosphere and delivers plenty of scares along the way. My one real gripe here is Miss Zellwegger, if the studio's idea of an all-American woman is an ugly, hairy, squinty eyed bad actress, then I guess she fits the bill. Regardless of her annoying presence, this remains a decent horror. Recommended.

During this movie, it had occured to me that I thought that Renée Zellweger was Reese Witherspoon... but I also thought Jennifer Tilly was Renée Zellweger... but I never mistook Resse Witherspoon with Jennifer Tilly. Weird, huh? Anyway, they should have cooked that kid.

Overall it was creepy enough and has some particularly freaky moments (Lily's parents were amazing). Creepy kids are scarier than creepy adults, so that's a nice foundation to build on. Besides, Zellweger has a natural helplessness around her, which was a perfect match for her part. At the end of the day, it relies too much on horror genre basics, which makes it run of the mill; but Case 39 is above average when you compare it to the general low level of output in horror in recent years.

Renée Zellweger's acting was horrible. Slowly paced in the beginning and you figure out the "twist" probably five minutes in. Doesn't really add anything new to the genre and instead seems to relish in the tired omnipotent demon child genre.

Demon Child, or Psychological thriller? Nope. Just a demon child, lame.

Not the worst thing in the world. The girl is a better actor than Renée for sure.

Very weak and usual horror story without anything new to bring out. Full of actors with tv carea and it was pretty surprise why Zellweger accept the part.

This movie did not do anything that hasn't already been done but it was still entertaining.

It's Colelt-Serra's 'Orphan' without the clever dark humor, stylish visuals or engaging tongue-in-cheek performances. Still, Zellweger makes it barely watchable.

Genuine unease at the prospect of another night with the delightful child. Never develops too far beyond that though, needed another notch of terror.

Just terrible. Sort of in a funny way but in all honesty don't waste your money or time. Unless you want to see Renee Zellweger horribly washed up and fueled by Botox and sour lemons.

I'm a fan of Renee Zellweger. I think she's hot. But I just didn't enjoy this film as much as I was hoping. Creepy little girl, I get that, but toward the end of the film, I stopped being scared. Which should not be the case for a horror movie.

This is a average horror. Renée Zellweger is a social worker who saves a child from parents who are trying to kill the child. The problem is after going in too deep with this child, Renée begins to question whether or not she's done the right thing.

Predictable, rote, and ultimately forgettable, yet I still found it very compelling to unfold, largely aided by one of Zellweger's best performances and great supporting roles from Bradley Cooper and Ian McShane.

Some pretty good "creepy" acting by the young girl can't make up for all the holes in the plot.
