A very decent tight bank robbery movie that also function as a take on A Christmas Carol. The movie manages to be suspenseful while being basically a two-character play thanks to the two solid leads, Cushing and Morell.

(DVD) Fun little Hammer thriller combining a bank robbery and Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol". Cushing is great as always.

Solid, fast paced and tense bank heist film with strong performances from the entire cast.

Rather ripping fun through most of it, with Cushing and (especially) Morell great as the leads. Unfortunately the end is something of a letdown, and makes the whole thing come off a bit canned. Sort of a bent version of A Christmas Carol, if you will.

What a fantastic Christmas thriller. It's crazy to think that this obscure Hammer film was almost lost to time. Cash on Demand is an excellent non-Christmas Christmas movie. It's set during the season, is important to the plot, but has very little to do with the holiday. It's a twisted version of A Christmas Carol turned into a bank heist. Typically I'm not a fan of heist movies, but Cash on Demand is so smart with how the crime is committed. Cushing and Morell are mesmerizing as well.

At around 80mins this is a tight heist/crime film from Hammer studios who are usually associated with gothic horror. Peter Cushing gets to shine in atypical role, and Andre Morell is equally good as his suave rival. The Christmas time setting and Cushing’s character brings to mind Dickens' A Christmas Carol. It's about as good as this kind of thing can be and it's biggest fault is that it doesn't aim higher. Nice addition to yuletide watchlist.
