Cast a Dark Shadow

Margaret lockwood carried this movie, and i fell in love with her character. The perfect strong woman role, without her feeling oppressively castrating at all. She reaked of stead fast individualism, and i fucking loved it, she made the film good, and it is good. watch it.

Cast a Dark Shadow sustains a simmering tension throughout, but slips into histrionics for the finale where a more understated ending would have better suited the overall tone. Up until this point, Bogarde is a slimy delight as a young man with a taste for marrying and bumping off old ladies, though it's Margaret Lockwood's performance that shines brightest, imbuing his would-be victim with a brassy blend of strength, attitude and tenderness. Jack Asher's noir photography is superb too.

Had more potential, but still a decent film noir.

Em honra do centenário de Lewis Gilbert filme #2. Era um excelente filme noir até o final meio bobo, sua qualidade foi muito devida às atuações de Bogarde e Lockwood, somada à excelente fotografia de Jack Asher. DVDRip no MakingOff

Enjoyable suspenseful drama, with some interesting scenes and 2 great leads.
