Central Airport

A fairly typical Richard Barthelmess affair except we actually get to see his serious face actually break out and laugh!!! Not often that happens. Here he is a pilot and gets in a love triangle up against his brother for the heart of Sally Eilers. Director William A. Wellman gets enough entertainment out of this standard plot with a cool all-come-together-to-help-save-the-day ending.

Wellman delivers another great action picture between man and plane. Great moments like the meet cutes and the film's finale really seal the deal on it. I guess it's a little cliched in spots, but Barthelmess sells it so well, and that ending is a whizpopper. Also: no friggin' clue why it's called Central Airport.

A standard love triangle melodrama with two brothers all wrapped around flying. The title has nothing to do with the movie.
