Cézanne

Musings on art and life mixed with static shots of Cezanne's paintings, footage from Renoir's Madame Bovary and clips from S/H's Empedocles. It bears more than a passing resemblance to Chronik der Anna Magdalena Bach in that it isn't a conventional biographical inquiry but rather a dialogue with the past that paints a rather fragmented portrait of its subject. Newcomers who aren't familiar with Cezanne or S/H would be better of watching its companion piece, Une Visite au Louvre, first.
