Slight and superficial consideration of relationships and fidelity may not be anything deep or meaningful, but its brisk pacing and flippant mixing of fantasy and reality makes it great fun; a warm and fuzzy rom-com-like blanket. Powered by Mastroianni's wonderful performance (her opening scene is a show-stopper) and generally good support from her cast, including a late in the game appearance from Bouquet. Stagy and theatrical design works here and helps sell the more fantastical elements.

Chambre 12 is a romantic character-drama exploring middle-age through the wants & desires clung onto from the past. The concept is interesting & the acting is good, but Honoré approaches his film with a sense of artsy progression that makes a night of surreal encounters seem almost endless. He does have enough sense to end the film before it truly outstays its welcome, but chooses to do so with a song play on the piano and many, many longing glares. Not really a comedy, & not really my thing.
