Charlie Chan at the Circus

I'm finding that I'm not that big of a fan of Oland's take on Chan-- he's too jovial and goofy, which makes the film seem more like a comedy than a mystery. The plot itself is pretty goofy, too, even though it's pretty cool to see the entire Chan clan hanging out together.

"Wise precaution to accept applesauce with large pinch of salt." - Come on! Chan the man has got to be the smartest guy EVER! The Chan clan of 14 takes a trip to the circus and get caught in the middle of a new murder case! A entertaining mystery where Charlie's son Keye Luke gets a good share of the spotlight bringing the comic moments. And Charlie gets to play with little people George & Olive Brasno! More cute and funny then exciting, but that still works more then enough to keep me watching!
