Dueling spy rings and a tricky murderer make this one a bit hard to follow, but making Number One Son a successful Olympic athlete and allowing Charlie to show some vulnerability make it noteworthy. The Berlin police officer going from dismissing Chan entirely to complimenting him by film's end is a lot of wishful thinking for the time but a nice touch.

Charlie Chan get competition from TWO sons! Awesome! That was the clear highlight in this entry in the detective series. As for the murder mystery, it was a bit too confusing. A spy drama with several groups after a war gadget and all kinds of twists coming at a exhausting pace. But regardless of a overly detailed plot, this Chan movie was filled with funny "Oriental" quotes and stuffed with excitement! Pure entertainment and a very good episode in the Charlie Chan series!
