Charlie Chan in Murder Over New York

At one point the police call in every Hindu in New York. The police chief calls out one to step forward, and they reveal that it's Shemp Howard in brown face. And yet no one sees through Toler's disguise... Fun mystery that keeps you guessing, with a nice number of twists.

Average Charlie Chan mystery without any specific gimmicks. Just a few murders and decent number of suspects while we see it unravels. Still a fine one passing us by without delay. Funniest part of the movie was easily the throw-away comic relief moment with Shemp Howard as a fake "Ali Baba" (or Hindu as we call them these days).
