Nostalgia. It isn't great but it's enjoyable enough.

Classic animation. Great story. Perfect film for all ages, though it falls short compared to what some modern animation is capable of.

I went to public elementary school in the suburbs in the 90s so I definitely saw this 5 or 6 times. It should beat learning about fractions.

Respectable though overly sentimental adaptation is better than average kiddie fare, though some of the liberties taken to soften some of the novel’s emotional moments (especially the baffling decision to completely dilute Charlotte’s final scene) drag it down somewhat; gets by on its spirited voice cast, headed by Reynolds who makes a lovely Charlotte, and Lynde’s full-bore camp Templeton.

A beautifully moving adaptation of a somewhat more poignant allegorical novel.

I think Charlotte might have been my first movie-crush. Probably wouldn't care for it anymore.

I was sad when Charlotte died...until I remembered that she was a creepy spider that injected poison into other living beings that liquefied their internal organs so she could feast on the goo. The movie wasn't quite so traumatic after that.

Charlotte's Web is a sweet animated film based on the classic children's novel by E.B. White. The voice acting is excellent, and the movie as a whole is lovable and fun. It's an excellent adaptation of the book and one that could only be done right in animation. Really good!

If you're a big fan of the book, this movie does it justice. I, however, don't count it as one of my favorite stories, but can appreciate good animation when I see it.

Classic. Fun and sweet, even if the animation is spotty.

What I could never figure out was why, with these mysterious messages appearing in a web over a pig sty, people went: "Wow, what a special pig!" but never paid any attention to who wrote the messages, as if they were so mindlessly vulnerable to suggestion that they couldn't even be bothered to notice a spider who could write.

Deeply dark in places, equally touching and funny in others. A story that works equally well for both adults and children. A good story with one of the last true animated movie feels.

I remember loving this movie when I was very young, but God is it dated and God does it drag on. I can't say as I hated it - Debbie Reynolds at least is lovable enough as Charlotte - but when the best part of the whole movie is the opening credits, you're doing something wrong. If it had taken maybe a more somber tone, it could have worked better, but as it stands, it's far too bouncy and saccharine for my taste.

A pretty great representation of the story. The animation's a little dated-looking nowadays, but there's still a bit of decent music and a good story behind it.

The whole aesthetic feels uninspired and musty, and the protagonist doesn't goddamn do anything. Fortunately the voice acting and songs are decent, and the story pulls fewer punches than I thought it would. Not a masterpiece, or even a mere gem, but one of the better efforts to take advantage of Disney's slump.
