are you telling me Mastroianni, Troisi and Scola did an amazing movie together and nobody ever told me about it?

A "filmed play" of the sort that Scola excels at, most of "What Time Is It?" is a back-and-forth between father and son, with Massimo Troisi's performance as the son good but dragging noticeably behind Mastroianni's as the father. Love and tensions intertwine. There are a few little clunks in the dialogue having to do with motivations and psychological blind alleys, but they are far between and don't detract heavily from the movie's authenticity and impact.
